After several weeks of soft launch with our first customers, WURUS opens to every business on Monday 9 November. Manage, sell and connect: the all-in-one solution to grow your business. Behind that sentence are three years of building, dozens of businesses that trusted us before anyone else, and one conviction: an African shopkeeper deserves the same tools as the largest companies, at a price that fits.
A notebook, three apps and a lot of patience
It often starts the same way. A shop manager keeps her sales in a notebook, her stock in a spreadsheet and her reminders on WhatsApp. In the evening, she counts again. The next month, she looks for an invoice that no longer exists.
It is not a lack of rigour. It is tools that do not talk to each other. In sub-Saharan Africa, 44 million SMEs work this way, and fewer than 5% use modern management software. Without reliable figures, they have neither visibility on their business nor access to the credit that would help them grow.
Where we come from
We did not imagine these problems: we lived them with our customers. Founded in Dakar in 2020, FUTURIZE first delivered custom software, one per business. Then came FEMS, a suite installed customer by customer.
Every project taught us the same thing. What our customers wanted was not one more tool. It was a single place to hold everything, reachable from a phone, that understood their reality: mobile money, SYSCOHADA accounting, customers you follow up on WhatsApp.
African SMEs want the power of a modern, African, modular ERP, at a price that fits them.
That sentence, heard in a thousand forms in shops, workshops and offices, is what gave birth to WURUS. "Wurus" means "gold" in Wolof.
Three years of building
WURUS was not born in a quarter. It comes from FEMS, our former software, installed business by business for every customer who needed an ERP or a CRM. FEMS served many customers, and took us through every hardship: problems in the field, heavy customisation, a different version from one customer to the next. That experience, and that command of the field, led to the decision to build WURUS, one platform for everyone. In 2022, FUTURIZE made a clear call: its services refocused on infrastructure and private cloud, and its whole solutions team went all in on what would become WURUS. That is also why WURUS is hosted and secured by a team that designs private clouds and disaster recovery plans for institutions. In 2023, WURUS grew out of the FEMS blueprint: a new architecture, and almost a year spent building a documented, standards-based foundation, secure by design and aligned with ISO, Senegal's data protection law (CDP) and the NIST framework, before shipping the first visible feature. Its first customer was Bijouterie Ibou Lo. WURUS went live in real production in early March 2026. By April, the commercial beta already welcomed 15 businesses in Dakar, Kaolack and The Gambia. Between June and August, the platform grew from 18 to 28 modules you switch on as you need them.
We built it module by module, shipping every week to real customers and throwing away what did not help. Forty releases have shipped since August.
We also agreed to be challenged. In a dozen validation sessions, we put our technical, product and marketing choices in front of experts from here and elsewhere: developers, DevOps experts, product owners, marketing specialists, economists, journalists, business owners and entrepreneurs, from Senegal to Togo, from Morocco to Dubai, from France to Sweden, the Netherlands, Norway, Canada and the United States. One lesson came back almost every time:
If a shopkeeper does not use it from day one, the feature does not exist.
Those exchanges shaped the WURUS you discover today.
In August 2026, WURUS won the national stage of the Orange Social Venture Prize (POESAM) in Senegal. Six weeks later, on 28 September, Biddew went into production.

Not AI. WI.
WURUS did not bolt a chatbot onto software. WI, Wurus Intelligence, puts intelligence where shopkeepers lose time: inventory dictated aloud, a sale spoken in one sentence, a photographed receipt that becomes an expense, an invoice sent to the customer on WhatsApp.
Its face is Biddew, "star" in Wolof. She speaks Wolof, French, English and Arabic, in writing and by voice, and knows which screen you are on. Nothing runs without your consent, and the figures are calculated by WURUS, never made up. Today, seven out of ten requests to Biddew are spoken.
The people who made it possible
Before it was a product, WURUS was a shared bet.
Our customers first, who used the platform while it still had its sharp edges, starting with Bijouterie Ibou Lo. They told us what was missing, what got in the way, what changed their day. In less than eight months of production, 91 businesses from 8 countries have made over 1.1 billion FCFA in sales on WURUS and serve 8,719 customers, from Senegal to Côte d'Ivoire, from The Gambia to France and Canada.
Figures as of 28 October 2026.
Our partners next, each in their place:

And all the experts, mentors and friends who reviewed a mock-up, tested a release or asked the uncomfortable question. Each of them, in their own way, made WURUS stronger.
Simple, powerful, close
Simple. No need to be a computer expert: WURUS is designed for shopkeepers. You make your first sale on the day you sign up, and Biddew guides you step by step.
Powerful. Point of sale, stock, invoices, SYSCOHADA accounting, HR and payroll, online shop: everything in one place. More than 30 modules switch on as your business grows, on computer, tablet or phone.
Close. SMS and WhatsApp packs are built in to talk to your customers, payment is in mobile money, and Biddew works for you, in Wolof as well as in French.

And now
The launch is not a finish line. It is the moment we open the door wide, and the first of a series of events: the Launch Event is in preparation, and its date and venue will be revealed very soon. In the coming months: the apps on the App Store, Google Play and the Microsoft Store, the Wolof interface, and the opening to more WAEMU countries.
